MEDITERRANEAN VARIETALS TO SHINE IN 2010

The 2010 vintage has already faced some challenges including an unusual November heatwave but the Mediterranean varietals grown under the Tscharke label are set to star.

Damien Tscharke is particularly excited about how his Montepulciano, Savagnin and Zinfandel vines are looking, believing they have overcome the climatic challenges faced to date to set the scene for a promising vintage.

"I planted these varietals because they are proven performers in the hotter Mediterranean climates in Europe, similarto that which we experience in the Barossa.  It was a matter of sustainable farming so it is rewarding to see these vines go from strength to strength."
