POSSE OF WINEMAKERS BRINGS WILD WEST TO BAROSSA GOURMET
Magnificent Seven: Wine Guns from the West
A group of boutique winemakers and producers from western Barossa has joined forces to showcase their region as part of Barossa Gourmet 2010. Partnering with South Australian Company Store the Magnificent Seven (Wine Guns from the West) has developed a two day program of the finest food and wine to introduce visitors to the special flavours and characters of the Valley’s west.
Comprising critically acclaimed artisan producers Tscharke, Russell Wines, Jamabro, Diggers Bluff, Soul Growers, Milhinch Seize the Day and David Franz the group has named itself in homage to the special part of the Barossa Valley internationally renowned for producing supreme wines.
“Without cellar doors and limited production it can be difficult for people to access wines handcrafted by artisan producers. We are really excited to have the opportunity to work with our Western neighbours to show off the special wines from the region,” comments Damien Tscharke, Winemaker for Marananga producer Tscharke.
Enthusiastic at the quality of wineries in the Magnificent Seven Tscharke is passionate about sharing this with locals and visitors to the Barossa.
“All of us truly believe that the Barossa’s west really does showcase the best of Barossa wine.”
Taking a unique approach to the Barossa Gourmet Weekend, the Magnificent Seven offers over twenty wines from across the region for visitors to enjoy matched to a comprehensive menu from the Company Kitchen, set in the Angaston restaurant’s idyllic setting of vineyards and lush gardens.
“The SA Company Store and Kitchen is the perfect place for a Gourmet event. We are really excited to be working with the Kitchen to develop a full menu that can be matched to our diverse range of wines,” enthuses Damien.
With the Magnificent Seven winemakers on hand personally to take visitors through tasting their wines this really is a Gourmet Weekend event with a difference.
“Our Shiraz Terroir Table will allow guests to experience the diversity of the western Barossa as well as taste some very special Shiraz wines from each of the Magnificent Seven,” adds Damien.
Don’t forget live entertainment by popular band Accoustica and plenty of activities and spaces to keep the kids entertained says Damien.
To be held from 10am to 5pm on August 21 and 22 the Magnificent Seven event is a must visit Barossa Gourmet destination. For more information visit www.sacompanystore.com.au
