2004 Lumberjack Touriga Nacional

A rich and juicy fortified dedicated to my Pop, a Lumberjack by trade, who told me if I was going to be a serious Winemaker then I needed to make a serious wine, a fortified.

Tasting Notes

This unoaked bottle matured fortified displays the delciated varietal characters of Touriga Nacional with hints of black tea, geranium, violets and clean spirit.  The palate is smooth, brooding with succulent sweet fruit, blackcurrant, liquorice and black tea.

It is the perfect match to a rich, luscious dark chocolate Belgian tart or heavenly chocolate marquise.

Vintage Conditions

The wines from vintage 2004 were produced from a growing season that was for most part mild.  The wines are elegant and moderately structured.
