The Bold and the Beautiful.Rich plum and raspberry, BBQ sauce, subtle peppery bunch character, roses, fruitcake and cream – no shortage of interest here. Full weight and huge flavour, though it’s shaped and toned by fine chalk dust tannin and a subtle ripe stem influence. Clever. Acidity is nestled well within the wine, and while there’s bold alcohol, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable or reduce its drinkability, though a dangerous and heady wine it is. Pulls a little savoury, dried herbal and earthen on the finish. Big and brash, yet charming. Really good wine.
