Crafted Boutique Wines

We’re passionate about what we do here; Tscharke wines are an expression of true varietal character whilst retaining the unique influence of terroir and embracing seasonal variation.

Whilst not certified organic, we do engage in organic farming principles, these form part of our holistic approach to grape growing. Our wines are vegan friendly, no animal or dairy products are used in processing and we don’t filter or fine. All wines are produced using techniques requiring minimal intervention.

We definitely have a signature ‘in-house’ style. It’s about texture, restraint and elegance, not just weight. It’s about honesty, integrity, sustainability and accessibility.

Tscharke’s rich Barossa history

The Tscharke family have the Barossa in their blood, they’re one of the original settling families still operating a family business in the region today. Arriving in the mid-1800s and recognising the potential for primary producing, they quickly established a mixed farming business, including the production of grapes for on selling.

Fast forward a hundred years or so and sixth-generation farmer, vigneron and first generation winemaker Damien Tscharke continues his family’s rich tradition, making the most of his special place in western Barossa. The vineyards span 3 sites, all within 3kms of each other and all right here in Marananga.

Cellar Door – Tscharke’s Place

Tscharke’s Place, home to Tscharke estate grown and crafted wines and Tscharke Barossa Pottery. Visionaries Damien and Eva Tscharke have created a unique space that’s sustainable, a reflection of their family origin and is a welcoming and enjoyable place to be in.

Perched on the gentle rugged slopes of Marananga, Western Ridge, Barossa, the traditional German style timber build didn’t happen overnight. 2 years in the planning and 14 months to complete, the doors to Tscharke’s Place quietly opened for the first time in September 2011.

Indulge your senses – come on a tasting journey…experience the uniqueness that is Tscharke.
