Explore our Cellar Door

Set upon the undulating slopes of the Barossa’s Western ridge lies Tscharke’s Place.

It is here that visionaries Damien and Eva have created a unique space melding family origins, sustainable principals and unwavering hospitality. The traditional German style tasting room has been a labour of love, precision and playfulness. Two years planning and 14 months construction saw its doors quietly open in September 2011.

Today a tasting experience extends beyond Cellar Door alone. With our organic vineyards, winery and barrel hall all within arm’s reach, we love nothing more than to intertwine this remarkable piece of the Barossa with our sustainable viticultural practices.

Take a flight through our Estate wines in the Cellar Door, raise a glass in the garden, or bring a picnic to enjoy with friends (… we don't mind a good sausage roll).

Make Tscharke's Place your own.

Private Tasting Experience

Beneath the Cellar Door our enchanting private tasting space offers the ultimate immersive wine experience. Assemble friends along our commanding Red Gum table as a dedicated host takes you through our emerging Mediterranean varietals and Barossa regional classics.

Advanced bookings encouraged.

Tscharke Pottery

July 2009 saw Eva Tscharke complete her three-year German based pottery apprenticeship. Establishing a studio in Seppeltsfield, Barossa presented the perfect base from which to produce quality, everyday, functional stoneware. In 2010, Susanna Brown joined the team; her enthusiasm, knowledge and a can-do attitude proving pivotal to the continued growth of Tscharke Barossa Pottery.

Produced from stoneware clay and fired at 1280°C gives the finished product an almost porcelain quality. A real focus is given to the functionality and quality of the pieces. Select pieces are incorporated into the every day tasting experience at Tscharke’s Place, a testament to their beauty and durability. Additional pieces are always on display in our mezzanine gallery at Tscharke’s Place. It’s a tactile experience so we encourage you look and touch – all items are available for purchase.
